One of the greatest things to participate in while in Chicago has got to be, without a doubt, seeing one of the great Chicago sports teams in action. It's surprising how much support all of the teams have considering all of the ups and downs that Chicago sports teams have had throughout history. You don't have to be a die hard sports fan to enjoy a game in the Windy City though - and why stick to your love of just one sport?

The NFL team the Chicago bears plays at Soldier Field which was recently renovated. The weather in Chi-Town makes for an interesting set of fans. Chicago Bears fans bundle up in layers upon layers and suffer through the coldest of temperatures in order to watch their favorite team play the game. Of course the Chicago Bears are not the only team in the city to play. No. In fact, the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team plays at the United Center. Chicago is one of the cities that is lucky enough to have two MLB teams in the league. The north side has the Chicago Cubs and the south side has the Chicago White Sox. Of course, locals have their favorites&emdash;and their opinions are as strong as iron. Talking baseball isn't much different than talking about religion or politics in some groups. They not only shy away from it but they discourage it simply because of the heated debates that are sure to ensue. The Cubs play at Wrigley field. A historical stadium which is home to the green monster amongst other things. The White Sox play at a more modern and stylish U.S. Cellular Field.

It should also be noted that the Chicago Bears aren't the only team to play at Soldier Field. The Chicago Fire plays there to a rowdy group of soccer fanatics. Area minor league teams include the Wolves hockey team, the Kane County Cougars baseball team and the Schaumburg Flyers baseball team. These teams are great for entertainment for larger families or families that are on budgets. These teams allow you to see professional athletes playing the sports that they love for a fraction of the cost of a major league team.
